Barely bulkier than a pen, this small tool identifies the North or South polarity of a magnet.

Bring it close to a magnetic field source and its built-in detector will indicate the direction of the field lines. This polarity identifier will then show whether the magnet you are measuring is North or South oriented.

It can be used to determine the polarity of a permanent magnet, and also to determine the direction of rotation of DC actuators.

This device does not measure the value of a magnetic field. It checks for the presence of a field greater than 50 Gauss, while identifying whether the pole is North or South.
